22 Million missing emails, where's the outrage?

Wikileaks from Russia on election eve!  Cute.
Now the FBI playing spoiler, with of all nonsense, emails from Anthony the big Weiner.
What did Hillary Clinton actually do?  Where’s the shock’n awe and horrors?

I’m amazed by all the hysterical Hillary name calling and that trumped up passionate hatred towards her.  It’s astounding.

What has she done?  What about Trump litany of crimes and misdemeanors.

Seth takes a closer look at Democrats beginning to panic as the race tightens and Republicans sheepishly admitting they'll vote for Trump.

Where is the outrage at President Bush and VP Cheney and the 22 million emails, concerning among others; big business’s formulation of Cheney’s (USA’s) Energy Plan, and that Shock’n Awe war of profiteering and horrors that created untold shattered lives and vows of revenge again USA.  Today we continue living in the blowback of that stupidity.

Yet, Republicans and their media machine have totally erased that from public awareness. And American seem more than willing to go along with the brainwashing.  : -  (

Trump, here's to looking at the Man in the Mirror.

George Monbiot has written another insightful, if biting, examination of the struggle going on within my American society.  Here he makes clear that Donald Trump is not an outlier, but the distillation of our dominant value.

I like this article because I've been thinking about how Trump both personifies and exalts in being the quintessential Ugly American, and I’m regretting not having any time for building an essay around the theme.

George Monbiot’s assessment echo’s with my own so since I can’t write about it myself I’ll at least share this introduction to his excellent article and encourage you link to the full story at monbiot.com - he describes a reality folks should become aware of and hopefully help encourage thinking about in a more constructive way, before this increasing extremism and disconnect from fundamental down to Earth realities leads to genuine chaos.

I hope this intro encourages you to read the rest of the article

What is the worst thing about Donald Trump? The lies? The racist stereotypes? The misogyny? The alleged gropings? The apparent refusal to accept democratic outcomes? All these are bad enough. But they’re not the worst.

The worst thing about Donald Trump is that he’s the man in the mirror.

We love to horrify ourselves with his excesses, and to see him as a monstrous outlier, the polar opposite of everything a modern, civilized society represents. But he is nothing of the kind. He is the distillation of all that we have been induced to desire and admire.

Trump is so repulsive not because he offends our civilization’s most basic values, but because he embodies them.

USA, what's the point of voting?

I saw a refreshing video today, it offered hope in the face of the coming election and got me to thinking.

You see, like gallows' day, the rapidly approaching USA election day has been crowding my thoughts and depressing my spirits.  I am gobsmacked that a demonstrable egomaniac and blowhard, with the intellectual depth of a trustafarian barfly is the GOP standard barer and presidential candidate.

I mean all these Republicans and even preachers of God who constantly flaunt their high and mighty moral standards and supposed superior grasp of human affairs and world politics and god's will, are rolling over for this amoral, financial and intellectual fraud named Trump.  What would God think?

Look at the situation!  Republicans are willing to sell their integrity to a New York demagogue who's home is gilded in gold.  Where is that right wing's moral fiber when it's needed?

GOP's 2016 Platform wishful thinking over substance.

I wrote the following for the September issue of the Four Corners Free Press, it's a sequel to last month's "Calling out Trump's Rev. Burns and GOP absolutism." Since I retain the copyrights, I can share it here, and I invite anyone, if you want to, copy and use any of it.

Another privilege I retain is that I can keep on editing and since most of serious writing is rewriting and editing, this isn't exactly the same essay that appears in the FCFP.  (You know what they say: The project is never finished, you just meet deadlines!)

July 19th Ben Adler at grist.org reported on the GOP Platform’s environmental goals, he compiled a list of eleven highlights. Republican’s call for:

Cancelation of the Clean Power Plan - Abolish the EPA as we know it. - (barring that) - “Forbid the EPA to regulate carbon dioxide” - Stop environmental regulatory agencies from settling lawsuits out of court - Revoke the ability of the president to designate national monuments - “Oppose any carbon tax” - Kill what minimal federal fracking regulations exist - Expedite export terminals for liquefied natural gas - Turn federal lands over to states. - Halt funding for the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (IPCC) - Build the Keystone XL pipeline and more like it.

To begin with, what’s up with the GOP’s seething hostility towards our government? If not our current government, what else? Regional power struggles? The problem with our government is the outside power-brokers who are only concerned with their own immediate self-interest. State governments are easier to own by ruthless interests, so where would that leave We The People’s interests when it comes to divvying up the last of our unmolested landscapes?

A Look at Republican Rejection of Equal Justice Under Law !

This is a digression to remind folks that US elections matter and a critically important, (if not downright frightening), election is coming up.  An election that demands rational folks, progressives, liberals, tree-huggers, humanists, science appreciating folks, all of us, line up and vote.

Please don't whine that elections are rigged and that they don't deserve your participation.  That is exactly why elections NEED your active participation!  It is the only time, when your opinions actually matter, by way of your VOTE!

Why play right into Big Money's plan by squandering your vote?

Recently, US Senator Elizabeth Warren gave a short speech that does a superb job of explaining who this Donald Trump is, and what's at stake in the coming election.  Definitely worth thinking about.
