Debating sf9, considering difference between MWP and AGW

I have a bit of hyper-attention syndrome, so I let myself get side-tracked, such as with a fresh comment at a YouTube video of - Stephen Schneider talking to 52 Climate Change Skeptics [PART 3] - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wzEHtYk8B8\.  which led me to reviewing the comments and finding this precious example of the contrarian mind in action.  I'll start with my comment made a couple years ago, then my new pal's response.  Then I'll follow with my usual collection of information for the interested student who wants to learn about these matters for themselves.

Regarding the end of this video

Her question about the reasons for "why we can't have a civil debate" and the hostile reactions of some.

Why not also ask:

Why is it considered OK to endlessly repackage and repeat misrepresentations of the science and Earth observations, up to and included lies?

Why should it be OK to ignore huge aspects of the known evidence?

Why should it be OK for an amateur's "science" to be given equal weight to an educated and seasoned expert (read: much examined and peer reviewed science?

For starters, don't know what my comment has to do with anyone's "qualifications", it was about the dishonestly and reprehensibility of people assuming the right to lie about what scientists are trying to teach us!

I notice sf9 offers no references to support his MWP claim and I suggest sf9 is about 20 years behind on paleoclimate understanding of the past ten millennium.

Scientists do have a good understanding of the various "natural variabilities" that influence weather, an ever so slightly dimming sun, volcanic activity, even the reforestation of the America during the 16th century Indian holocaust in North and South America, that resulting in massive reforestation and pulling massive amounts of CO2 out of the atmosphere, played a role in the subsequent "LIA" - it's a complex dance between many known elements.

What sf9 is missing is that geophysically speaking, CO₂ is an atmospheric insulation medium and a major regulator of our Earth's heat holding capacity.  Period.  The science is settled on that one.  It really is that simple, no debate.

It is also settled reality that humanity, through its hydrocarbon driven modern marvels, has been injecting unimaginably massive quantities (of a geologic scale, even.) amounts of CO₂ and other "greenhouse gases" into our atmosphere.  

Profiles in climate science denialism, David Rose the yellow journalist

The folly at Science of Doom's denying AGW denial thread keeps building, and now a regular commenter has added climate science denier extraordinary David "AGW is Hoax" Rose the reporter from the UK Daily Mail tabloid into the mix.  Here's what he writes:

"Well known" "journalist" Rose may be, although notorious yellow journalism expert is closer to the mark.  What I can't comprehend is why doesn't it matter to RD and his "sceptical" crowd, (or SoD for that matter), that David Rose has been shown to be guilty of malicious misrepresentation of established facts and broadcaster of slanderous lies on numerous occasions. 

Here's another recent blog defense at "Breitbart's blog," Donna Edmunds started a February 3rd article with this splendid rendition of David Rose the victim, rather than the predator that he is:

"David Rose is a journalist who sometimes writes about the grey areas within the climate change debate. As a result, he has already endured calls for his own children to murder him, been compared to Hitler despite being Jewish, and had his personal contact details published on Twitter. ..."

And so the Republican/libertarian echo-chamber goes.  Without that fabricated foundation of lies they have nothing to defend.  Then they wonder why some call them Denialists!

For instance to claim that Mr. Rose writes about the "grey areas" of climate science is a bald faced lie!  Mr. Rose has been denying the most fundamental of contemporary geophysical facts, fabricating lies in order to deny that our planet has kept right on warming and that this warming is caused by our greenhouse gases that we and our society are injecting into our thin atmosphere (and oceans).

Worst, no matter how many times David Rose is given learning opportunities by experts who actually understand these matters, or scientists he's misrepresented, he ignores them all, in order to stick to his malicious, some call it treasonous, "Hey, it's all good, AGW is a hoax" storyline.  

But, do any members of the Republican/libertarian community care that Rose's news stories are based on lies and misrepresentations???  
Does SoD care?  

I have collected a list of articles and responses, that share various details of Mr. Rose's many frauds against the public's interest to be allowed to honestly learn about climate science and how we know we're impacting our life supporting Earth.

The Australian’s War on Science ~ A Chronicle by Tim Lambert

Recently someone that's been "debating" with me at the "SkepticForum"  who has been a reliable contributor of insults and echo-chamber cut'n pastes and misdirections ~ 

well this character decided that instead of trying to counter all the evidence of continued global warming, { That is explanations and links to resources with information and scientific arguments } with logical discussion - this "skeptic" decided an animation of an exploding head was the appropriate response.  

Now, that a couple days {and counting} have past, it seems the moderators of said forum feel that sort of outrage is fine'n dandy.  Obscenity is strictly verboten, show some boobs and you're history... but reply to a serious conversation with an animation of an exploding head... and it's considered within SkepticForum's perception of fair play.  Well, perhaps skepticism for the sake of skepticism is their guiding principle, silly me, how could I have ever expected more from that crowd.  

I admit to still being a bit upset, though my experience at that site has given me an appreciation for the unjustifiable ruthlessness of the attacks respectable, professional scientists have had to endure at the hands of little more than politically motivated thugs.

As it happens I came across one of Tim Lambert's posts today and it reminded me of the long running series he's written about the orchestrated Attack On Science in The Australian.  An attack with the intent of shutting down learning and forever freezing any proactive initiative to slow down our injection of global warming causing gases into our thin atmosphere.

So as part of my "healing process"  I decided to compile an index of Tim Lambert's articles examining the strategic attack on science as it is carried out in the pages of  
The Australian newspaper.  

Tim Lambert thank you for all the work you have done to try and shine some light on this travesty.
