As for respecting the Hiroshima and Nagasaki victims of the Bomb - I would turn that around and ask what about respecting the future and the lives of our children and their children ? !
Please notice the five buttons at the bottom which calculate the energy being retained by our planet due to society's yearly injection of 30 gigatonnes of Carbon Dioxide into our planet's atmosphere - where it acts as an atmospheric insulating medium against frigid outer space.
There are four other gauges besides the Bomb's equivalent:
"Hurricane Sandy's equivalent"
"Magnitude 6.0 Earthquakes equivalent"
"Million Lightening Bolts equivalent"
"Big Ben's Full of Dynamite equivalent"
There is also an "information" button, for more details.

The start date is set at 1998 and puts a lie to the notion that global warming has somehow stopped since 1998.

4 Hiroshima bombs worth of heat per second (via Skeptical Science)
Posted on 1 July 2013 by John Cook, dana1981 Last weekend, I gave a talk at the Climate Action Summit on the latest climate science. During the talk, I showed the following graph of the Earth's total heat content, demonstrating that even over the last…

4 Hiroshima bombs per second: a widget to raise awareness about global warming (via Skeptical Science)
Posted on 25 November 2013 by John Cook, Bob Lacatena This is a working version of the widget, as it would appear on the sidebar of a blog. To use it, just click the buttons. Our planet is building up a lot of heat. When scientists add up all the…

That equals turning on a child's night-light on every square meter of earth. John Cook was told that & said he H bombs sound better. SMH
{hate then typos, let me try again}
Yea and 120 trillion night-lights adds up to one heck of a lot of heat! Every day, 365 days a year, out into the distant future and compounded daily.
Meaning at least 120,000,000,000 x night lights-
43,800,000,000,000 x night light's per year
438,000,000,000,000 per decade - although by then the rate will have climbed yet higher.
Touch and hold your fingers to a burning night light, it won't take you long to appreciate that it turns out to be a not insubstantial amount of heat.
So your point is?
This is an argument from incredulity.
And another example of folks who are too fearful or politically absolutist to understand the full scope of the situation.
