I'll admit I've been curious when the Russian's interest in my blog would reawaken. It wasn't until the last few days that there was a renewed stirring, but today it hit. I don't know what it means, but I believe it is worth documenting in real time, thus I'm sharing it here and I will update this post as we go along.

Given all the advocacy blogging I've been doing lately and now that the Russians are looking in, (and who knows how many other angry sinister interests), I figure this is a perfect time to write a bit more about myself and what motivates me, before the demonizing starts in.

A recollection of what went into creating this individual who appreciates Earth as a real physical entity as opposed to a commodity good only for the plundering.

I'm a 61 year old independent, unaffiliated individual who has followed the path less traveled. Way back as a kid, I didn't quite trust the Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry portrayal of the magical future, nor the glitzy corporate/Hollywood/TV advertisements. See, the whole thing just didn't quite jive with what I was seeing out the window while riding the L train and what I was beginning to learn about the world around me.

The Wind Beneath Dr. Spencer's Wings

Dr. Spencer is a guy who puts his personal faith before rigorous science and who’s higher-calling is that of taxpayer watchdog dedicated to minimizing the role of government. He has a day job over at the University of Alabama Huntsville. Team Leader even, for the Advanced Scanning Radiometer on NASA’s Aqua satellite where he’s racked up an epic string of, not just errors, but also deliberately misinforming leaders and citizens. Almost as though keeping people ill-informed is his goal.

My previous post contains a long collection itemizing the details which compels the above assessment. (Attacking me the messenger won’t change those hard facts!)

In this post I want to consider the mechanism that has encouraged and enabled this man to continue broadcasting his deception to the masses despite all the down to Earth evidence demonstrating that humanity's gluttonous burning of fossil fuels is already altering the living conditions on our planet.

It all started with a few small minds, but deep pockets. Minds obsessed with ensuring ever increasing power and profits for their chosen. Not surprisingly, such an attitude lead to a ruthless desire to crush all opposition, be it evidence or messengers, and damn the consequences.

These people have managed to create a fantastical alternate-universe consisting of a hermetically sealed echo-chamber peddling faux-science. In their world personal faith, desire and power are more important than honesty, rationality and objective learning. Nah, their product is disconnect and the delusion that it’s okay to ignore our impacts upon this Earth’s life supporting biosphere.

So who is part of this conspiracy against rationality and learning about our Earth that enables someone like Roy Spencer to get all that mileage on basically nothing but hot air? In the remainder of this post I share a report compiled by the The Union of Concerned Scientists, USA. It’s a brief review of some of the biggest players in this malicious campaign of deception.

I'm a very small blog. One man's hobby more than anything else. Fills my need to share what I find interesting and important about our world and its biosphere, well and to confront shills who lie about climate science. Somewhere in the past I had dreams of making some sort of impact, but a thinking person can deny the futility for only so long. Truth be told, I've learned to appreciate I'm basically pissing in the wind. Now days I think I'm evolving into simply being a 'witness' to what I see unfolding upon our one and only, once fantastic cornucopia, planet Earth. Since there ain't nothing stopping this train-wreck we're in the midst of.

I bring this up because though I don't trust my "blog numbers" considering spiders and what not being counted. I do know that once in a while the numbers go crazy. For instance this past week suddenly Russia was taking a big interest. I'm pretty sure it wasn't coffee shops full of kids trying to read my suddenly viral articles.

Nah, something is searching my site, not that there's much to find. Who knows, perhaps someone is getting ready to pull some mischief on me. The recent headlines wouldn't have anything to do with my dark thoughts, hmmm. How much do I care, difficult to say anymore.

I know there are too many typos, what can I say, eyes aren't what they were, I get rushed, and always did have a thing with transposing…{well, I also hated high school "english" classes... bad call that one.}. Doing the best I can with what I got. Embarrassing though it is, it's better than doing nothing. Besides, it's the issues and reasoning that we should be worrying about.

Though I'm in my own little world here, I'm also constantly learning and evolving and do get occasional feedback and when I reread stuff and find errors or omissions or garbage, I fix it. If it's major I'll acknowledge it with an 'edited' note, minor stuff I don't bother.

I hardly keep track of Anthony's latest antics (besides, with Sou on the job why bother - can't beat her insights). It's just me over here and I have more important things to do with my precious hours - still now that Anthony's luster has been wearing thin he's put his energy into discovering and honing new fresh faces to carry on the public show of the Republican/Libertarian strategic attack on science.

He seems to have transitioned into a ring-leader, perhaps mentor/coach would be better, producer? At least that's how Mr. Steele and his antics of the past year has gotten me to think about it. So in that regard this blog remains about WUWT's brand of thinking and logic and my struggle to understand the anatomy of the fraud they've perpetrated against mankind. {December 2014}

She continues be the best at keeping up with Mr. Watts' and pals and their many deceptions.

Run by working climate scientists intended to help the interested public and journalists sort through the complexities of the climatology. They provide "quick response to developing stories and provide the context" that is too often missing from public media's depiction. {But, you better be serious and have some real science education/understanding under your belt if you want to keep up.}
